Beeswax

It's a wonderful material that requires a lot of work from bees. Did you know that they produce it thanks to their small wax glands, located under their abdomen, and that they need 10 kg of honey to produce one kg of wax!

Beeswax is rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids. Used in cosmetics, it nourishes and protects the skin by forming a natural, protective barrier against external aggressions and dehydration. It softens the epidermis and is ideal for dry and delicate skin.

In our beekeeping practice, we harvest wax in two different ways: we regularly renew the frames and recover this precious material by melting and purifying it with steam. The other source comes from the honey cell lids, these small wax plugs that bees use to seal the honey, making it unalterable and resistant to humidity. This "capping wax" is extremely pure because it has only been used once. It is the wax recommended for making cosmetics.

Our wax is organic and pesticide-free, thanks to the apiary's protected environment.

Price and packaging

We offer two "grades" of wax, as explained above. The wax is sold in aluminum trays, and the exact price is calculated based on the price per kg. Each tray weighs approximately 300 grams.

Comb wax (ideal for candles, crafts, furniture care, etc.): CHF 50.-/kg (300g tray = CHF 15.-)

Pure capping wax (ideal for cosmetics): CHF 70.-/kg (300g tray = CHF 21.-)
